To establish a long-term and continuous action plan with measurable outcomes and timelines by which the Stamford community can assess our progress in the closing of the achievement gap.

To encourage and facilitate the awareness, support and participation of all sectors of the Stamford and other communities.

To aggressively and creatively facilitate the involvement of all racial, ethnic and socio-economic groups in the city.

To establish close ties with providers of pre-school, after and extra school programs in coordinating efforts and programs with the public school system.

To recognize existing best practices and successes that exist in other communities and in Stamford, and to help implement similar programs.

To seek counsel and expertise of communities and consultants that have developed positive and workable techniques and solutions.

To work closely with the educational structure of Stamford including the Board of Education, the Superintendent of Schools, the Principals and the Teachers, the Parents, and the Students.
