Quality Education for All Students will provide information and discussion on how to best achieve successful education for all students. The Symposium will provide information on detracking and closing the achievement gap.

The structure of the symposium, the knowledgeable speakers and panelists, corporate and community support, and cooperation of the Stamford public schools promise to encourage stimulating dialogue.

100 Black Men of Stamford, Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, CTE, Inc., Fairfield County Community Foundation, GE Foundation, Nellie Mae Education Foundation, Norwalk Community College, Pitney Bowes, Purdue Pharma, Stamford Public Schools, The Advocate/Greenwich Time, UConn Stamford, Urban League of Southern Connecticut, Yerwood Center all collaborated to provide The Success Symposium: Closing the Achievement Gap - What Works on December 11, 2008. Principals from Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Ohio, Bridgeport, Norwalk and Stamford provided inspiration for educators, representative community leaders, teachers and parents. The purpose of the Success Symposium was to openly discuss effective ways of addressing the achievement gap. The stories of success from principals around the country provided important inspiration to everyone and proved that it has been done and can be done!
