Quality Education for all Children

Stamford Achieves is a catalyst for closing the achievement gap in Stamford. Its goal is to ensure that an excellent education is made available to all students and that all students achieve. One of the goals of Stamford Achieves is to identify successful programs that eradicate the achievement gap and finding ways to adapt and implement them in Stamford. But how we as a group “achieve” this mission is almost as important as the task. We won’t replace the public school system and don’t want to bedevil it. We will engage people on a personal level to help win this fight; ask the tough questions and pursue responsible, practical solutions; build alliances with the education, family, civic, religious and business communities and give credit wherever it is due; and be a persistent, independent force for change.
